Possesses a highly athletic style of play and uses acrobatics and explosiveness to move fluidly around the net to keep high-danger one timer opportunities and breakaways out of the net. He uses his strong skating to move around in the net and can take away chances with his lateral movement. He plays with poise and focuses on the puck, showing proactivity in play reading and enabling himself to cover the net rapidly and recover back into his stance. He can remain compact on the short side to protect his post and is good at keeping his stick engaged with his motions to control rebounds on low shots. At times he does yield some juicy rebounds due to his mobile style of play but he can get himself back into position with his athleticism. He does play small and deep in the net and needs to improve his overall positioning to keep up at the next level. His stature doesn’t do him any favors and he to often leave open a lot of net when he gets moving, which may hurt him down the road if he wants to advance as a pro when the shot quality is higher. He does use his blocker and catcher well and uses his lateral mobility to mask some of the weaknesses in his game when it comes to positioning and his size. He’s got some tools to work with and he’s talented player with a good compete level, but the lack of identity in his style is a concern.
